C. Craig Blackmore, MD, MPH

Craig Blackmore, MD, MPH, is the Director of the Center for Health Care Improvement Science and a radiologist at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA.  He is an Affiliate Professor of Radiology at the University of Washington, and is a Fellow of the American Society of Emergency Radiology. Dr. Blackmore also earned a master’s of public health degree from the University of Washington, through the Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Program.

 

Dr. Blackmore has authored over 100 journal articles and book chapters, and has edited 3 textbooks on evidence-based imaging.  Through the Center for Health Care Improvement Science, Dr. Blackmore’s current research focuses on improving health care quality and efficiency through the use of the Virginia Mason Production System.  Focus areas include patient safety, evidence-based appropriate care, patient-centeredness, and health care policy.
