David C. Levin, MD

David C. Levin, MD, Professor and Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Radiology at Jefferson Medical College and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has also held faculty appointments at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center, Downstate Medical Center, and Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital. He was co-director of the cardiovascular and interventional radiology division at Brigham and Women’s, and was subsequently appointed acting chairman of the radiology department. From 1986 to 2002, he held the title of chairmen of the radiology department at Jefferson. He continues to work in Jefferson’s Department of Radiology doing coronary CT angiography, health services research, and teaching. He has published over 250 articles on many subjects. His research interests include cardiac imaging, imaging utilization trends, practice patterns in imaging and economics aspects of radiology.
Dr. Levin was awarded the Gold Medals of the Pennsylvania Radiological Society in 2002, the American Roentgen Ray Society in 2003, the American College of Radiology in 2006, the Association of University Radiologists in 2008, the Radiological Society of North America in 2009, and the Society of Interventional Radiology in 2010. In 2008, an endowed chair was established in his honor at Thomas Jefferson University; henceforth the Chair of the Department of Radiology is to be known as The David C. Levin Professor and Chair of Radiology.
