James H. Thrall, MD

James H. Thrall, MD, is Chairman Emeritus of the Massachusetts General Hospital Department of Radiology and a Juan M. Taveras Distinguished Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Thrall has served as the President of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Chairman of the Board of Chancellors, President of the American College of Radiology, and has held additional leadership roles in professional societies such as the Radiological Society of North America, and the International Society of Radiology.


Dr. Thrall’s research interests include radiogenomics, image processing, health policy, and nuclear medicine. He has authored more than 400 publications and has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his career.
